Why is it that winter break always goes so fast? When I was a kid, it seemed like it never lasted long enough, and now as a parent, I really feel like it doesn't last long enough. That holiday song that says "and mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again..." -- well, that doesn't apply here.
Of course we fill our break with lots of traveling and a little bit of down time, and we ignore the school work that has to be done (really... do teachers think the kids will do it throughout the holidays? Nope - many of them will wait til the last day -- at least mine did).
